Does anybody know of any guides for a way to clean an A5 without too much hassle? It's on of the old Belgian guns. Serial no 6889 stamped on the receiver.
Same way you clean most shotguns with a little difference since it's recoil operated.
Push down on the barrel, take the forearm off, take the barrel off and clean it all, then oil it.
Then reassemble.
I don't ever take the trigger assembly, etc. off.
Is that what you are asking or are you having a hard time taking it apart ?
You will need three difference size screwdrivers, and don't use regular ones, You will hollow grind ones, or you will mess up the screws and twq difference punches just for starters, And some knowledge on putting it back together. Just my 5 cents jj
Unless you have some serious grit or gumming issues, I'd not take it apart. Protect the wood, spray it out with brake or carb cleaner, oil lightly,..... that bronze ring and that surface upon which it glides needs to be clean and lightly oiled.
