    Ate a seagull once (it's a long story). Tasted like . . . ? . . . a toasted turd with a strong fishy taste.
I really doubt that OH . . POSSUM would be much better. --- SAWMAN
People do eat possums. I was told it was good idea to feed them a few days before killing them to get some of the nasty stuff out of their system. They will eat carrion and just about anything else from chickasaw plums, water moccasins (They are immune to snake venom), to ticks.
I think my dogs just killed another one. I can smell it and have not yet found what they killed yet. One of my dogs has been rolling on something dead.

I saw some crawl out of a dead cow once when i was a kid. Had to put that out of my head. My nephew is 17. Did it all by himself. I would say it tastes like tender rabbit or cornish hen. Its better than the other boneheaded things kids do these days. Talked him down off of the armadillos.

Please take my word for it Ray . . . as a S.E.R.E. and a D.W.E.S.T. Instructor for a combined almost 4 years, both active military and as a civilian, there are critters out there that you would rather not eat.
    BUT . . . bon appetite --- SAWMAN

Rather not, yes; but properly cleaned and cooked in starvation times....YES I would! How did you come to eat that seagull, and if you were starving; would you eat it again with gusto? :boink:

Is that sausage in the pot? If so, it could pick up any stews taste; and I would try possum or any wildlife properly cleaned and cooked!

He found some conecuh hot n spicy in the fridge. I think all that msg softened it up lol. I was gone on a barge run and we were out of taters. It would have been perfect with taters

Breakfast this morning. A twist on what I was introduced to as a Texas Breakfast outside of Houston in the late '60's by an Aunt's husband, his version was chili in scrambled eggs eaten with a tortilla chip. For this version I used some dice ham I needed to use up, onion, eggs, and homemade queso (Rotel canned tomatoes with peppers, and Velveeta cheese), with lime Tostitos . Wife's bowl got some Sriracha for additional heat.

Had made some Garlicky Cuban Style Pork shoulder in the Insta-Pot, and today it was used in a quick and easy lunch with some left over black beans that I added some meat juice to and blended with an immersion blender. Dang good!

Taters, sweet and Idaho, and herb/garlic marinaded pork chops in the sous vide. Butterbeans with smoked ham hock in the Instant Pot, simmered to perfection on stove top and White Lilly cornbread!

One of my favorite quick bites as a reward for taking the wife clothes shopping. Oscar Myer Angus Lean Beef franks, Castleberry Chili Sauce with Onion with a little Sriracha sauce, mayo, mustard, and extra sharp shaved cheddar under the franks!
