I believe I'm going to make time for this one. I miss shooting my rifle in competition.

I like the CQB rifle matches more. These type of matches are fun, but I would want to get a better optic to be more competitive and I don't have a good place to dial in a good zero at distance. That's one of the main reasons I traded my red and black AR for an open gun.

I am building a "2 gun" style rifle now and was planning on putting a Primary Arms 1-6 scope or a Vortex Strike Eagle scope on it. Wound either one of these be adequate for 2 gun?

Yes, I shot one of these 2 gun matches last year with a 1-4x and I felt like it was lacking at some of the distances required. A 1-6x or 1-8x is much better. A set of offet irons or an offset red dot with a different zero can be helpful, too, because they will almost certainly incorporate some closer range, tight shots.

From the PTAC matches last year, some were just shooting a red dot. I would imagine, depending on your eyesight, any quality optic would work. I currently have a 1-4x viper but used an Eotech last time. Just tried to remember my hold over on the long shots.

Yup, I'll be there. The format will be exactly like the OCSO charity shoot, which was AWESOME. It's not CQB rifle work at all, the closest rifle shots were at 100 for safety I assume, since it was all steel, but I'll be getting my CQB fix with 3gun and PCC.
For these 2-gun matches I'll be shooting with the exact same rifle as the OCSO shoot: My 556 Suppressed SBR, with the only change being the addition of a 3x magnifier to help find the steel since it was hard to find them at times.

Yep, it's either 100 yards or they require frangible rifle ammo which drives the cost up for shooters as well as participation down.

If I'm not out of town I want to do it.

Makes sense, plus making steel sing is awesome.
    IMPACT! Lol
And not pasting is also a perk.

Any of ya'll lead slingers getting geared up for these matches? Currently in debates...I'll have to take vacation for the first two matches as they fall on Saturdays I'm scheduled to work. I may just let ya'll be the test monkeys for the first one

One reload max. One in the gun, one on the belt did just fine.
