Checked the Senate webcam a little while ago, Rand Paul was speaking to delay a vote on the massive budget deal. Dredging up some interesting subject matter about government waste too.

Headline from an article today on Fox News... “In Olympics, let's focus on the winner of the race -- not the race of the winner”

    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/02/07/in-olympics-lets-focus-on-winner-race-not-race-winner.html

Fox News on Friday removed an inflammatory op-ed written about the 2018 Winter Games by a network executive after it attracted widespread criticism, with a spokesperson telling media outlets in a statement that the piece of commentary did "not reflect the views or values" of the company.

^^^^^^^^ A U.S. swimming medalist took a knee during the U.S. National Anthem at the Summer Games in Brazil. That shifted that Award Ceremony attention from the entire Medaling Relay Team to one asshat wanting to protest and get attention while on the World Stage.

I didn't read the FOX Opinion and the link is down but if it was preemptive on crap like the above, I'm all for it. The taking a knee bull shit is just broad brush bitching and moaning. It serves no useful purpose, just like trying to block a highway. IMHO

This week, a shocking story hit the national news about an Ohio teenager who was removed from her parents' home by authorities. Why? Because they didn't support their daughter's decision to identify as a boy and declined to authorize hormone therapy to facilitate her gender "transition." Today, the story broke that Juvenile Court Judge Sylvia Hendon has permanently removed the child from her parents' custody (despite the fact that the child is already 17 and would be able to make medical decisions for herself in less than a year).

What's especially alarming is that a lawyer representing the child -- as well as Donald Clancy of the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office -- cited the parents' religious beliefs as an argument for robbing them of their rights! The mom and dad are being criticized for seeking out a Christian therapist for their daughter and for daring to send her to Catholic school. Even so, the parents were clear that their stance on the gender transition wasn't motivated on faith alone.

After all, they pointed out, they'd had lengthy consultations with medical professions and did hours of research on their own. Only then did they come to the conclusion that "this is not in their child's best interest." (The American College of Pediatricians -- not to be confused with the more "politically correct" American Academy of Pediatrics -- agrees.)
For years, LGBT activists have scoffed at warnings from FRC and others that the radical LGBT movement poses a threat to personal and religious freedom. In the past, the Left directed most of its attacks on religious expression in the public square, doing everything it could to restrict faith to the four walls of your house or church. Now, even that tolerance is tumbling down.
I wrote yesterday about the shocking attack by two Michigan state legislators against a church in metropolitan Detroit that offered an "Unashamed Identity Workshop" for teen girls struggling with their sexual orientation or gender identity. It's becoming ever clearer that if we don't fight to defend our liberties everywhere, they will not be safe from attack anywhere -- not even in your church or your home.

it is time to take this country back from the liberals..

The Fox Exec's Opinion column basically said that instead of focusing on the race and sexual orientation of the athletes, perhaps just focusing on their athletic talent is more appropriate. The USOC was apparently overly "proud" of the diversity of the Winter Games US Team. This exec didn't agree with making such a big deal of what the ethnicities or sexual orientations are.

The video clip embedded on the page at Droshki's link shows a portion of what the exec wrote.

Fox Opinion, Winter Olympics and Jason Thompson, the USOC’s director of diversity and inclusion. I read several articles on it, one at link below.
They want the chosen athletes to represent the diversity found in the U.S. This push for increased diversity includes athletes, coaches, trainers, support staff, and positions within the USOC. There is no reference to what is the "acceptable tradeoff" if diversity is the goal. We have seen Gov programs that mandate not equal opportunity but quota, preference and lower standards to fill a desired number or %.

Focus! This is the Olympics, where Countries send their very best athletes who are trained by the best coaches. If we're sending the BEST, I don't care about how the diversity number turn out. But if the USOC is sending lesser athletes to fill some diversity goal: that is bullshit! Instead of Gold, Silve and Bronze this year, we will get the all too familiar participation awards just like that being pushed through U.S. kids sports.

16" long batons, really, in the shape of a bat. At $3 each.

Perhaps confronting a shooter with one of those will make them stop and die of laughter...

...And in an interview the other day she said the reason the unemployment rate is low is because so many people have 2 jobs! She's a real genius. Typical left winger, knows the talking points but is dumb as a stump beyond that!

big city democrats have never met a tax they didn't like...

NJ proposing taxing your water now...they say it is to fix the crumbling water infrastructure, which, imo, was brought on by many years of mis-management and corruption...and high pensions

Where I come from that a 16 inch bat is a "fish billy". Lol No weight to it, might as well try a 12 inch Ruler unless you want 4 more inches of stand-off disance.

They clearly see the need for a defensive tool in classroms but can't admit that a firearm is the definitive answer. Impact weapons and beefed up doors won't stop events that start in the classroom. Train and arm teachers: if it saves one life it's worth it!

Here is something DAMN STOOPID that the Fla gov't does.
There is a commercial on TV that states the Florida taxpayers spend $100,000,000.00 per year to incarcerate illegal alians.
Can this be true ?? Why can't we simply load them on a C-130 and drop them off at some remote airstrip in South America.
I know where some are if they need my help. ---- SAWMAN

We wish we could say this was a satire piece, but a new story in the San Francisco Chronicle reveals just how lucrative collecting shit actually is.
It's but the latest in a string of shocking revelations to hit headlines throughout the summer exposing how deep San Francisco's crisis of vast amounts of vagrant-generated feces covering its public streets actually runs (no pun intended).
