I absolutely cannot wait for the 2-gun matches. I bought extra 300blk subsonic ammo in anticipation today.
The last 2-gun match was by far the best time I've had at ERGC thus far and I'm sure Mike and the gang will put on another great match.

Synopsis: it's basically idpa with a rifle from which we transition after shooting, at least one reload and a bit more shooting. The rifle is then set to safe and put aside left hanging by a sling and we proceed to switch to pistol to finish the stage, usually with a reload or two. They do call for proprietary targets, but we don't bother with that.
In addition to the usual idpa gear, you'll need a center fire rifle, 3 magazines, a sling and 150 rounds (to be safe), a chamber flag would also be good IMO. All general safety rules apply.

you'd be at a disadvantage, but if you're more concerned with fun over winning, by all means, bring 'em out there!

Roaster, if you need to borrow a semi auto carbine for the match, I have a Storm in 9mm and a bunch of Beretta mags. Although I have to admit running this thing with a lever action sounds like fun!.

I don't want to dress like a Cowboy. I sure appreciate the offer of a loaned firearm. I think maybe going to one of these events & watching how it works might be a good idea first.

If there are specs on a dump box, be happy to make one

I don't know what a dump box is, but I don't like the sound of it.

When you transition from one firearm to another, a box is provided for you to drop your firearm within the stage.

In some 3 gun matchs. The long gun, after being made safe is "dumped" into a box. Or the gun is staged in this way to safely grab in a transition. Didn't know if this would be useful in a 2 gun application maybe 12 square x 24 deep on an angle padded bottom?

    Dates? Info? Rules?
Dates: Soon, probably in March or April.
Info: See U.S. Tactical Carbine Association for information (USTCA)
Rules: Don't want to adopt a whole new set of rules like USTCA has, but it pretty much follows IDPA in many respects.

Use of lever guns? Sure, if you want to see how well you would do in a scenario and that is all you have with you at the time. I would rather not have .22LR, but if you want to save ammo and cost, that's fine; you'll be in a separate division. If you run a lever gun, prepare to bring ammo for your reloading and how you will accomplish that in the midst of a fight. Aha, transition to pistol.

That is their set of rules, but we are pretty much going to go by IDPA rules so we don't have to learn another whole set of rules. We have been doing fine so far, but if you wish to compete in one of their matches somewhere, that is the rules by which you would govern yourself.
