Picked it up this morning. After waiting for months and months! I only got it because David at TGD saved the day. When I called and asked for availability and price on one, he found a wholesaler that had one in stock, and alerted me it was available and the price. I pushed the button and he called the wholesaler back within 30 minutes to order the gun, and was told it was gone.....sold! Having already told me he had found one, he did not want to fail; so he called and called and finally found a distributor that had one in inventory, but it was at another of the companies locations. David called for a favor and got me the gun! Dedication above and beyond as a dealer in my mind. Thank you David!

i love the rifle. Had to unpack it and check it out while the wife readied for grand-baby clothes shopping. The raised cheek piece that most hate the appearance of is perfect for me, puts the sights right in line with a good stock wield. To my surprise the package included a shock cord type since point sling with a rubber or plastic coated snap hook. I did not see where that was included on the web sight. The folding BUS sights are great, with two apertures and the large one seems to really be a quick CQB sight that I like a lot.

i am headed to the range tomorrow, and plan to do something I NEVER do; shoot this gun straight from the box! This is deliberate to see how it handles it. The only slight dislike is that the folding stock folds to the right, and it does not appear that the bolt can cycle with the stock folded. Not a biggie to me since it is a rifle and the folder is only a toting/transporting factor to me. If it folded the other way it might be more likely to sang on clothing and the sling, so it may be very well planned by the Sig engineers.

More to follow tomorrow. Meanwhile, drool away if so inclined!

Thanks for the review..hopefully more and more people will start giving reviews here..every magazine article I read makes every gun smell like roses instead of cow shot (Rem r51)..and I for one don't like to buy things only to find out they suck

Straight out of the box and to the range. All I did was visually inspect the bore to ensure it was clear. I took a variety of ammo, and three magazines. The ammo included Tula, Monarch, Hornady Zombie green flex tips, and Brown Bear Soft Points. The Brown Bear was the only brass cased ammo tested.

Rifle turned out to be very close to dead on at the 25 yard mark, which is where I test and sight all new long guns. I held dead on covering the center circle and started to check grouping with various ammo. Sights need a small tweak. I will have to order an M16A4 front sight tool.

After warming up in the center for a few five shot groups, while testing the three mags. The mags were the poly that came with the gun, a 30 round military AK mag, and a metal five round hunting mag.

Had absolutely no issues with feeding or ejecting, only failed to chamber one time on the five round mag, and it was my fault in not fully inserting the five round mag fully.

I am going to scope the rifle, so we will see how good it shoots then. I have real trouble with rifle front sights, but I loved the sight picture on the BUIS sights, and they fold down for mounting glass….perfect!

Thanks for the review. I have had one on order since April. My dealer said it won't be shipping for at least a few more months (Military/LE), which is ok since I am overseas again untl mid-Jan. That is a good looking rifle!

SWEET! And I am guessing that there is no "play" between the upper and lower receivers as the Gen II's had. That was supposed to be taken care of with this new model. Now I wonder if it's worth seling my Gen II to acquire one of these. I know you will enjoy. Maybe you can bring it out to one of our two gun matches at ERGC when we have our next two gun match in a couple of months or so.

No play between the upper and lower. It is the first Sig rifle for me, but when I read the description last spring, I knew I wanted it. Worth the wait! Getting some high rise rings this week so I can take it to the range this coming Sunday. Not into shooting matches, but if you or Danny want to check it out I plan on being at the public range on Quintette Road at about 1100 on Sunday. Bring your own favorite ammo....now that I have two long guns in this caliber, I need to get some more 7.62x39 ammo in stock!

I had David find me 2 .556 versions earlier this year even when "they" said they weren't shipping for months. The Bolt handle is swappable to the left side with a simple push of the button. R

Here are my two. Both have optics now. If you take the cheek weld cover off you can shoot it folded with the bolt handle on the right, other wise with it on you need to have it swapped. I put a LanTac on my wife's rifle along with a Eotech 512. The recoil is nill.

Enjoy it. I want a nice x39 and 300BLK conversion set for both!

Got out today and confirmed the battle sights are set, and then sighted in the Aimpoint Comp M4 red dot sight. I love the package! It is the best combination of rife, caliber and sight possible!
