Lord help me... I think I want an MP5 clone... been looking hard the last few days. Not many around.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

You need one... I gave you all a chance and had my MP5 for sale on here but no one was interested... To Late now. I SBR'd it and full auto ready for my Reg Sear!!!

Anyway did some shooting today. Shot the MP5 K and A3 a little and did some long range with .308 Subsonic's. Buddy had 178gr with Trail Boss and I use 220gr with 700x both were about the same and we swapped rounds and stayed sighted in. We both have Rem 700's just different suppressors. Hit the 12" steel plate every time.

    Fun Times!!!

1911-A1 FS is what I believe it is. Hasn't been fired much but has some heavy carry marks.
She is dirty and dry...you can hear the spring when you wrack the slide.
Maybe I will get a chance to run some through her this weekend after I clean her up a little.
Might be a solid Full Size piece to build on.
Not the one I was looking at but an OK find. The other one turned out to be Nickle and I just didn't want it.

Clean it up and maybe some grips that are a little more aggressive since the front strap is smooth and GTG.

I used to have one of these. Nice shooting pistol. Definitely upgrade the grips to ones that have some texture.

Do it. I got the opportunity to shoot several guns from a private collection today, among them a Zenith MP5 and a transferable MP5A3. Awesome guns, and I can definitely see why they're highly regarded.
I had my eye on a Scorpion Evo 3, but now I don't know what to do. :D

I've been on the lookout for good shooting glasses for the past few years. I have trouble finding glasses that fit me well and there aren't many places around that sell a wide variety of quality "shooting" glasses. After wearing the same two pairs of $15 shooting glasses the past 3 years or so, to the point where all of the lenses are now noticeably scratched, I decided to finally break down and make an effort to find a nice pair. After doing some research, I found the Oakley's were the only brand with a red-tint lens that I could find in stock locally. I went to Shades in Spanish Fort yesterday afternoon and tried on virtually every pair they had. Unfortunately Oakley doesn't sell the combination of frame and lens that I wanted. The lens I wanted only came with a white frames, but I wanted black frames. Luckily the lady who helped me was quick to call someone (manager or Oakley rep?) and ask if she could swap the lenses into the frames I wanted and he approved it. I paid way more than I wanted to for glasses, but I'm happy to have a nice pair now. These are the Flak 2.0 black frames with Prizm Golf lenses.

Dan1612 built the base gun several years ago and I got it from him in a trade. I decided to pimp it a bit and swap the furniture and have one friend cerakote it and another hydrodip the furniture in burl.

I was challenged by a USPSA shooter out in Texas to race to Master class in Carry Optics Division, so I put the Limited gun away and got out my G17 MOS for some dry fire last night. This is the first time I've dry fired in a few months and the first time I've picked up this gun (besides GSSF) since March. Going from a 4lb gun with a large magwell to a plastic gun with no magwell is still a work in progress. Those reloads are going to take some time to refine again.

I got my Marlin Papoose threaded and front sight moved back today thanks to our own Oneshot's (JJ's) skill and knowledge. I will call it my quiet child. More info on NFA pic thread, and my review thread.

Picked up a RIA 1911A1 a couple of weeks ago to play with. Thought I would take advantage of the VZ Veterans Day sale and ordered Operator IIs for it.

    IMG_2124.jpg

Took those slick wood grip off and found this under it. I knew I shoulda bought grip bushings when I ordered the grips.

    Grip Bushing.jpg

that is the good one...I had to knock the other ones down with a file to get the new grips to settle. They don't appear to be staked in ..maybe Loctited

    Staked.jpg

It doesn't look bad with the new grips. I plan on adding a mainspring housing with a mag well so I ordered the straight instead of tapered bottom. I plan on checkering the front strap to match the 20LPI rear mainspring housing i intend to use. I'll change out the grip bushings while I have it in the vice for that.

I saw their sign. Ive been meaning to ask what they do. Are they are regular buy/sell shop, or do they do specialty coatings, milling, threading ect. I know nothing about them. Do you know their hours?

They are closed on Sunday. Not sure about the hrs. They just got a gunsmith. I didnt ask about what he can do. They plan on holding classes to finish your own 80% lower, self defense, etc. Looks like the coffee is on and they have a big couch to hang out
