So I went to reload a few 44 Mags. Son wants us to go shot lever actions and revolvers and I only have like 5 44 mags left so I figured I would about 20.

So I goto open my reloading supply cabinet and I was greeted with this. I guess I just put too much weight on them shelf's. LOL

So after 30 min of cleaning up that mess. I finally got to make some bullets. I am going to have to get some new shelf's and make them stronger I guess...

So some pics making a few 44 Mags did not use the Dillon XL650 for 20 bullets, but I checked on it. My wife make the cover out of two pillow cases for me.

    Now on to the reloading...

    Couple of things - - -> (IMO)
Depending on your preferred meathod of carrying the gun,the protruding mag could be a problem.
The 350 Legend will always be a "hand loaders" chambering.
Do not discount the "youth stock" unless you have shouldered it with the appropriate scope, rings, and base.
You are getting a super trigger with 15 minutes worth of tweaking. --- SAWMAN

I hope to have fun with my Ruger bolt gun. For example, I have a few thousand 75gr frangible 9mm bullets. While I normally shoot them out of a .380 at close range steel, I wonder how much velocity they can handle, give decent accuracy with, and not blow apart in mid air? I do not see why a .38 seating and crimping die could not be used or maybe a 9mm seating and taper crimp die. Will my rifle chamber wadcutters? I have cans of pulled 115gr 9mm bullets. 3 of us already have a bulk buy of 1000 Starline 350 legend brass due to arrive in a few days. No reloading data for what I want to do with the legend, but I have figured out light loads before. Liberty suppressors told me their Mystic X suppressor above serial number 2600 will handle the 350 legend in a 16” bbl, so that might be a journey I’ll take. So many possibilities to explore.

Sawman, you know my Ruger will make a visit for you to examine and measure the trigger pul....

    Bring it on bubba.
    Same cost as before.
With a can, possibly some hog killin' in its future ??? ---- SAWMAN
ADDED: I'm glad that brass is coming. Looks to me that you WILL NOT be able to use 223/5.56 brass for the 350L.

Got a couple of toys the past 2 months and finally got around to put some optics on them. Now I need to take them to the range this weekend if work permits

I lost my front sight in the middle of my last USPSA match. The narrow tenon sights have been on backorder but finally came in this week and I was able to stake it in place this afternoon. I think I need to order a backup sight just in case since not to many companies are making tenon sights.

Order of 350 Legend Starline brass arrived. Will now divide the bulk order up for the 3 of us that ordered.

A while back, American Reloading had a sale on MP530 powder (suppose to be bulk CFE223, start low and work up). I wanted to try it in the Grendel, as CFE223 is suppose to give a higher velocity. Well, I didn't get the higher velocity over the IMR4895 I use before I got high pressure signs, so I set it aside. Decided to try it in .223/5.56 to find a use for the jug I got. Using CFE223 data and starting low, I fired alternate groups with an AR and a RARR. At 26.0 and 26.5gr with Hornady 55gr fmj bullets, I got fine accuracy with no high pressure signs in this hot weather. I settled on 26.5gr and then took out 2 other 5.56 rifles using pulled 55gr fmj, just shooting at pieces of clay pigeons...shot fine for my plinking purposes...I'm satisfied I have a good use for it. American Reloading doesn't list it anymore, so it may have been a one time deal that a friend and I went in on to get 2 jugs and reduce the cost per jug.

I have been using CFE223 to work up loads for my 22-250Rem. It has produced vels of about 75-125fps faster than the nornally indicated powders for that chambering.
My accuracy has been good (but not excellent) using both 53gr Barnes and 60gr NosPart's. The accuracy potential is still out there as I have not tweaked the trial loads with sesting depth or primer change. ---- SAWMAN

The Ruger American Compact 350 Legend arrived.

Especially for Sawman: Bbl free floating. Light surface scratch in finish on bbl in front of the chamber (no big deal to me, as the rifle will show normal wear as I use it). Trigger pull needs adjusting (next week...have guests at the house through Saturday). Scope rail: Our early RARR's had 5" funky Ruger rails with notches not evenly spaced the length (bought EGW replacement rails to better mount thermals and some other optics). This came with a 6" rail with mounting notches evenly spaced the entire length...YES! Bolt and receiver where bolt moves needs wearing in. When running the bolt home to chamber a round, the bolt face sometimes contacts the rear angled part of the mag follower prior to making contact with the cartridge and slows down the forward movement.

A .357" bullet loaded in a case chambers and goes into the throat with no problems. Diameter of the case where the .357" bullet is loaded was .377". SAAMI chamber spec for that area is .3789". However, I don't know if that's enough clearance for the case to expand to release the bullet for safe firing without increasing pressure too much. (One reviewer had blown primers when using .357-.3575" bullets, so he started running all his bullets through a .356" bullet sizing die with no more problems and excellent accuracy...excellent = 3 shot 100yd groups under an inch.) I'm really tempted to get and use a .356" die from the git-go. I've resized thousands of jacketed bullets (.308" 147-150gr) before, so I'm no stranger to running jacketed bullets through a Lee bullet sizer.

No dies yet. Did find that the Starline brass, as-is, easily is chambered. A 9mm belling die works. A .38 special seating die works for the .357" bullet I used. A 9mm taper crimp die works for removing the case belling.

Trying out a Hawke brand scope. My understanding is that the Hawke brand is better known in Europe and among air rifle shooters, and now they make centerfire scopes. Lifetime warrantee. AO goes down to around 15'. But best was the wide elevation and windage adjustment range: 100 MOA, as I intend to try a lot of bullets and velocities in the Legend.

Glad you got your gun already. Poly mag huh . . holds how many rds ?? Single stack ??
We can get thst trigger down to 3lbs or just under. No creep either. That is what I really like about the mod.
Glad the gun came with a more optic friendly scope base. Make sure to clean under it and re-torque to 25in lbs.
For me . . no .357" bullets . . I will fall back to .355" unless I/we learn something from your load work-up. Knowing your usage for the weapon you should probably do the same unless you have a ton of .357" wadcutters.
I looked hard at the Hawke line of scopes before I bought the Nikon for my 22-250. I really like some of their reticals. In 2005 the Hawke rep for this area was in my hunting club. He had several of them on his deer/hog guns. Your right, the brand is bigger in Europe. They just never caught on over here, even up north. I believe that the price is what hurts them. They are too cheap. I do believe that they are a value for the money. --- SAWMAN

It came with a 5 round C Products Defense magazine. Double stack metal mag. Testing with Winchester 145gr fmj ammo, the mag fed fine. Testing with an aluminum Colt 20rd 5.56 mag, two rounds loaded fed fine. If 3 rounds were loaded, the top round was not held at the right angle for the bolt to pick it up. Using a Daniel Defense 30rd mag, it would feed 3 rounds loaded fine.

Magnetospeed makes a 3 round flush seat AR 5.56 minimag...I might get one to play with. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/322276/magnetospeed-minimag-magazine-for-magnetospeed-grip-ar-15-223-remington-556x45mm-300-aac-blackout-3-round-polymer-black

Edited to add: Ordered the 3 round mag to see how it works. I can always use it for Blackout or 5.56.

Took my family out to the range this morning to let freedom ring....
We had a great time. Daughter got it out to 500yds and my wife smacked the 1000yd a couple times. She was very happy. Son is a little too small to shoot with the scope but he blasted plenty to .22lr. Not much better ways to spend a morning.

Took my Ruger American Compact 350 Legend to a friend. He waved his wand over it and the trigger pull went from a creepy 3 lb 9 oz average to a no creep 2 lb 5 oz average (it was also now a much more uniform pull weight). Torqued the stock back to the receiver a uniform 60 inch pounds, and now the bbl is centered in the stock (purely a cosmetic fix, as the bbl was free floated from the git-go). With the action out of the stock, we noticed the Ruger synthetic stock has more internal reinforcements and is more rigid.

My 350 Legend dies arrived and, as per another user, if one follows the Lee instructions on setting up the belling die, the case will be belled too much and expanded too far down into the case. Backing out the die body itself several turns, it will bell the case mouth just enough to start the bullet and be a firm hold on the bullet. Haven't fiddled with the seating/crimping die, as my bullets are still in transit. I'm still tempted to crimp with my 9mm taper crimp die...an extra step to be sure, but with my taper crimp die it's easier to not over crimp, having successfully used it on many thousands of 9mm reloads in a myriad of 9mm subguns, pistols, and carbines. It's also more forgiving when the case length varies.

Hogden put out 350 Legend load data a few days ago.

Sighted in the RARR 350 Legend with the 158gr load it likes. At 10' from the chrono and 80 degree temp, it averages 2341 fps. Finalized a 180gr load it likes, but have not choreographed it yet.
