You should message FUPAGUNT. He might be able to hook you up with a twin!

Not today but this past Saturday. I was finally able to get to the Steelfeild range. It had been months since I was able to go, but the wife forced my hand (I love that woman). Brought the Makarov, 1911, SKS, and AK underfolder. Had a blast. I put about 150 rounds down each gun except the SKS. Only about 60 through that one. The weather was crap but there was still a decent amount of people there. I also looked into doing some volunteer work there. They will teach me to perform RSO duties and I will be able to get involved in range maintenance stuff. For every 8 hours of volunteer time I get a free visit to the range. It should take me about a year to earn that free day but I think it should be fun.

I use Steelfield too. I didn't know they had a volunteer program. Sweat equity = $.80 an hour since you can shoot all day for $10. Lol. Is the RSO training/Cert in house or NRA/other Standard? Are the RSOs all volunteers or some paid positions?

Yesterday my wife ordered me one of the "Christmas Story" lowers from PSA. Will finally get to finish my pistol kit I got a couple months ago. Of course I will have to wait for Christmas.

I got off work a little early yesterday and thankfully most of my Glock mags were still loaded, so I ran up to the range and got some really good practice in. About 400 rounds in less than an hour and a half.

I tried just dawn and lemishine earlier and it didn't work all that great. Trying it again with the stainless pins now.

Yeah, you have to use pins with it in my experience.

I shot a USPSA match today. It was a toys for tots fundraiser for CASA. We had a good turnout even though it was misting and 35 degrees. I shot limited 10 with one of my 1911's. Won my division.

^^^^^^ 1911 pistol grip palm shelf! Might set a trend, or not. Lol
Feed it and let us know how it goes. Should be pretty mild mannered.

that is the illusion it gives with those grips. If the grips were straight cut instead of beveled it would be one clean line.

Had right eye cataract surgery Dec 3rd. So far (using scoped very light recoil rifles ((3 .22 rimfires and 1 300 Blackout with very light suppressed 108gr subsonic loads))), I've had to re-sight in every one...each rimfire needed 2 clicks at 25yd; the Blackout needed much more. Only one of the scope's didn't need ocular refocusing to get the reticle sharp.

Left eye surgery will be Jan 7th. My eye doctor said no restrictions on shooting, yet the vast majority of Internet posts from either eye doctors or patients said wait 2 weeks to a month before shooting "heavy" recoiling rifles including a graphic description from a shooting eye doctor of what could go wrong if fluid leaked out of the incision site. I'm waiting to be safe. The 2 weeks comes from that it takes about 2 weeks for the implanted lens to get fully anchored in the eye.

Rt eye is now 20/20 distant! Day after surgery it was 20/60...it improves as the eye swelling from the surgery goes away. Pistol sights the first day were hopelessly blurry. My implants correct the distant vision (typical cataract surgery implant procedure). Every Internet post and my eye doctor all say you just have to wait at least a month to "see" how iron sights look. One local shooter I know said he couldn't shoot iron sights (pistol and rifle) very well for 5-6 months. My pistol sighting has improved enough over that first day in that I was able to hit a soda can 5 shots out of 5 shots at 15' Saturday.

Will need reading glasses for sure. One optometrist said sometimes very weak reading glasses will sharpen up the iron sights for shooting without making the distant vision too bad.

I bought a .450 Bushmaster upper (18" barrel) on sale from Bear Creek Arsenal and assembled onto an Anderson lower with a Geissele SSA trigger and fixed stock. Topped with a Leupold 1.5-5x. I'm waiting for "correct" mags to arrive.

I shot a USPSA classifier match in Vinegar Bend over the weekend. Wasn't my best showing, but it should bump me up to about 80% in Carry Optics.
