      Just wondering how many deer hunt with the old boring .308??

      “Old” “boring” 30-06 here. I’ve taken whitetail, elk and pronghorn with it. Had a full paddle moose in the crosshairs but no tag. But when I bought my son his first rifle some 25+ years ago, it was a 7mm08. And his son has now killed his first deer with it.

      We’ve planted them for years in Perdido. Turkey’s and deer love ‘em. BUT, hogs do too. If hogs find them they will (in my experience) destroy your patch.

      Something i got that seems to be a good idea

      I got my first ones, .40 and .45, probably around 1990. I’ve found them to be handy. Got ‘em for .223 and .308 as well.

      Which gun oil?

      Lucas extreme duty gun lube. Engineered for sustained full auto fire. It’s slicker than owl chit and seems to stay put better than others.

      Your opinion on G29

      Dang Dave you were up early this morning! I’ve never shot a 10mm, but I think I’ve talked myself into buying one. It seems to me that the 29 would be mighty spiffy to effectively handle. Maybe not, but I’m looking at a G20 SF if Glock ever offers it with the MOS.

      Favorite Camping Areas within a 2 hour drive of Pensacola

      Magnolia Branch wildlife preserve, just a bit north of Atmore, appears to be a very nice campground. I’m not a camper but I drove up in there a couple of years ago just looking and it’s really nice. Probably worth at least a look. I think, not sure, but I think it’s affiliated with the casino.

      Need some fast growing shrubs

      My wife says Elaeagnus...should grow 4 ft/yr. Up to about 18 ft.
