I thought it already required 2 codes, one from the president and a second from a person designated by congress or something like that. I’ll have to look into it.

Unfortunately, the old man will probably give the nuclear launch codes to Pelosi and OHarris. He's under a lot of pressure. If he doesn't, he just might be removed, one way or another. The leader of the House is a boss. But she is still accountable to the people, to her constituents! That is how we put her in check! Remove her from office. Have that homicidal maniac mentally evaluated. The constituents need to recall the over emotional delusional communist operative now, before it's too late, before she has nuclear launch codes. She already tried to do this under Trump's administration. Just who the heck does she have such a hard-on to nuke anyways?!

In spite of the other fluff and filler supporting reasoning (not justifications), dems are clearly not comfortable with biden's cognitive abilities regarding Nukes.
If all the additional red tape Staff agreement was required: we could be dusted and never even get a retaliatory Strike launched. In essence, the U.S. would no longer have a fast response Nuclear deterrent. There's a strong possibility that those elected dems/left don't trust the unelected people behind the scenes who are actually pulling biden's strings.

President's rattling their nuclear deterrent sabers isn't anything new. Kennedy was masterful in his stepped ecallation of it; including the potential for a First Strike. Trump often referred to and warned little dictators as making a very, very bad mistake if they crossed the Line: total destruction! Those getting the message and others with bad aspirations knew damn well Trump would do it and that's deterrence.

If biden gives this away, the U.S. would be a dog with no teeth as far as Nukes go. biden did the token, new President "Strike something" so he has a little Military Power application credibility (air strike in Syria).

There's general media reporting that the vp has been calling several foreign Heads of State. Very unusual for dash-2 to conduct Dash1 protocol contacts. Its viewed as insulting that a Head of State isn't respected enough to be addressed by their U.S. counterpart. VPs normally only coordinate through their foreign counterpart but even that lower level contact is normally done by assigned Ambassadors who by virtue of their assignment are representing the President. So she's either covering ground the puppet masters don't want biden to screw up and/or they refuse to use Trump appointed Ambassadors.

As much as I hate the idiots, from what I read it is an attempt to add checks and balances to declaring a nuclear strike, and not for him to turn over responsibility to those beneath him.

In other words if the President orders a nuclear strike, 1 or 2 other people must agree for it to happen.

In the time it takes to check in with everybody's opinion on what to do after the enemy ICBM's are airborne, we won't have anymore silos left. It'll be up to the ballistic subs then at that point, and those individual sub captains have had all they've needed for checks and balances for the last 50 years. They can and will act when the pant suits are incapable. I remember reading that each one of our LA class subs has more firepower onboard than all that was dropped in WW2, Korea and Vietnam combined, and there's like 30 or 40 of them floating around out there. Thank God they are on our side

"Checks and Balances" is just word play. Fact remains it would add people to the decision making process AND THAT deminishes the power of the Commander in Chief from taking sole and timely action that rest within the powers of that Office alone. Waiting for the "Its just common sense "Line.

Now remember back two months when pelosi (again) was pushing to expand the interpetation of the 25th Amendment regarding being able to pull a committee out of her ass and have it determin if the President is fit for Office! Trump was already heading out the door, and she referenced it for "future president's".

Line of Succession "of Power" is well established, thats not what this is about. What the document wants is for subbordinate politicians to have a bite of the Power apple. A legal Authority and "requirement for consent with the President's decision will affect the President's chosen action. Why grant such power if it would not have Authority to STOP the President's decision? What happens if one person says "No"? What happens if the President is presented a uniform vote to launch a First Strike and the President says "No". Who will actually have the Go/No Go Power? Time permitting, no President would persue the nuclear option in a vacuum without consultation. They do this routinely even on some drone strikes, High Risk Missions, and surly on larger airstrikes and troop deployments across National borders.

U.S. President's have soley held this power since 1945 and the Doomsday Clock countdown has come very close several times. So we must ask why is this issue surfacing now? The Left/dems got exactly what they wanted: biden in the White House instead of Trump. They propped up biden, made every excuse to cover his shortfalls and metal lapses he demonstrated time and time again. They created the very problem are trying to prevent with this power grab. They can't tailor it to just cover biden's Term, that woul be an admission that they put a guy in the highest Office in the Land and can't trust his mental abilities and judgement. Left/dem could just impeach him but that's another admission they deliberately mislead everybody that swolled the biden pill. Biden is just their puppet and will sign anything put in front of him. The longer term impact is that what they do now will neuter every futur presidents authority.

Best case is have biden sign an Executive Order to put his own Authority in check and the next President can terminate that EO. The Left/dems will still look like it damage control at the highet level so don't hold your breath.

She probably doesn't want to nuke anyone but needs to be part of the process to assure China that we won't nuke them for an Asian takeover. Or something to that effect. If you critical think it out, its the most logical thing ..a check on any action going through her is big bucks. Especially if they attack an ally
