I was in the Navy for 4.5 years and remember that crap well.. Army field food was worse.. Tonight's feed - prime rib, boom boom shrimp, baked potatoe, roasted broccoli and bug juice. I was on bow watch after the locks and they put this plate in the cooler to mess with me.
Looks great! I was in the Army for a little over 8 years, and at one particular duty station the food in the chow hall was so bad that we preferred to eat C-Rations....actually, Cs weren't bad.

Edited to add: MREs came in after my Army time, but I have eaten some...just plain nasty. I believe one entree I tried was cardboard with gravy o_O

How's the Fantail fishing? Got kitchen privileges or a willing Cook? It seems you have it pretty good. They do your laundry or do you fishnet bag it and drag it?

Box B menu #10 chili mac was the best MRE ever!
15 years as an Infantryman I know my MRE’s well. Tried an old C rat once, made the MRE’s gourmet food.

Yeah, I guess it was just too sophisticated for my cheeseburger level palate, but C-Rat sliced pork followed by the pound cake made my day :p

I only had c rats about 3 times. Liked them better. Lamb and something and fruit salad. The new ones are supposed to be better. My fave mre was beef stew with truma plate cracker.

    NO JAMES !!
Had a buddy that had a fuel boat/barge. It was fairly narrow and short. He would slowly cruise up and down the canals in Ft. Lauderdale and fuel the peoples yachts that did not want to have to go out of their way to pull into a marina and tie up.
They would just dock it in front of their house and call him for a fill up.
The down side was the permits, paperwork, inspections, and otherwise red tape. The USCG was always on his ass for the first year or so. The tax people was always sniffin' around also.
All in all, after about 8 years he retired (again) damn near a millionaire.
For awhile he wanted me to come down and throw in together with another fuel boat/barge. BUT - -> ?? ---- SAWMAN
ADDED: Just before he retired he found an old, drunk, widdow woman, sittin' in the sun on her dock,in front of her 3.5 million dollar estate, and married her. Two years later she had a stroke, died, and left all her money to him.
