wildrider, I would have to ask you to show where in the sales rules it states: "After sale, Seller is suppose to post item is Sold and the final selling price per the Rules."

    3. Do not remove item or price after the item sells, prior sales will help other members to gauge the value of items.

Do not remove item but it is no longer available so.... It should be marked as Sold. How many times do we see Posts "Is this still available?" And the items was sold.

How are Members going to correctly "gauge the value of the items" if the actual selling price was below the listed Price? Some Offers are Posted while others are by PM, email or phone.

Without marking the Item Sold and providing the actual selling price: Rule #3 is meaningless. IMHO.

Scammer wants to get you connected off the Forum to a Scam contact he can play you on. They also hope they can avoid being banned AS a Scammer (just helping a friend right) while trying to get "longevity creditable" down the road. Scammer used common scam text, report him to the Mods as they have zero tolerance for this crap.

wildrider, I think we have met and if I am right I am disappointed. Actually disappointed in any case.

In other words; not a RULE, but your opinion. Not sure how humble it is to try and pass one's opinion off as a rule on a forum.

I KNOW it is not in the rules listed for the sales section, and confirmed it before posting. Maybe you and RR need to become supporters and steer the forums refinement! I know at least one other member has expressed such thoughts in writing.

If it becomes a rule, then at that point I will say adios to the forum. Maybe I need to sign up as a supporter to oppose such draconian rules being instituted. I am not looking for more rules, and what $$$ I sell and buy for is not anyone else's business....this IS still America.

More than one way to financially support a forum. Clicking on ads is a good one, and joining is another. I am pretty sure the financial worth of a forum is more based on ad clicks. Perhaps more members and visitors should click on the ads, or more guest should join. Tonight there are "Total: 178 (members: 39, guests: 139)" online as I type. I wonder if more guest will join with more intrusive rules?

I will think about becoming a supporter, but with the new member traffic ignoring the rules and the mods not being able to keep up with it; I will have to think about it a bit.

If I list it for 400 and just happen to take 350 because I wanted quick cash and post that, then everyone will low-ball me 50 off my asking price from that point because it's in print. Not all sales have room to do that, whether it be the going rate or a firm price because it's easily sought after and would sell quickly.
We're getting way off topic from a thread that shouldn't even have been typed up.
I've made a similar thread and regretted it.

Stage, what do you mean by the statement:
"We're getting way off topic from a thread that shouldn't even have been typed up.
I've made a similar thread and regretted it."

We fundamentally agree; but why should the thread not have been typed to start? I appreciate any conversation based in honest exchange of ideas, especially on a forum with a shared interest like firearms and related items. Why are we way off topic? This thread IS in the General Gun forum, not the off topic forum where it might better fit.

Are you saying that this thread for supporters excludes the honest exchange of ideas and thoughts. I hope it does not!

I am ALL for supporting this forum, and welcome all to join the forum and click on the ads; or become a supporter; whatever level of support you can provide is cool!

Oh, and what was your similar thread...inquiring minds want to know! :D

If you dig and search past post by me, you can find one or two I got rightfully slapped for. We learn, we live...or we die wondering!

The thread title is deceiving. It was made to vent about missing a for sale item because a pm wasn't answered.
I made a similar post. A review for a seller in which I didn't actually buy from. It was all setup, me being the buyer. Then never contacted me and posted SOLD in the thread. We pm and text. It was all ironed out. I feel the original posters pain here.

I would like to become a supporter, genuinely. Y'all's knowledge surpasses mine by far in firearms nd it's good to talk about everyday stuff and get different perspectives with gun loving people. Not as much pissing matches here as other places.

You seem to have real heartfelt animosity on several issues, I'll stay with Rule #3 as that's a burr I put under your saddle. We differ in interpretation. I'm sure clarification would be provided If you asked a Mod and I encourage you to do so.

If you read my Post, that you quoted in your Post #41 it starts: "Non Mod opinion...." You asked a question and I answered it: explaining my interpetion of Rule #3 in #43. You seem to find some satisfaction in "setting a trap, already knowing your answer" However, my opinion has not changed.

As far as your disappointment in me for my opinion of such a trivial issue, that's in your rice bowl and I'm not going to poke your raw nevers.

On the rest of your rant, it's not my monkey and not my circus. I can only recommend you extend your conversation with a Mod.

I'll wait and see if the Mods address it and follow their guidance.

Not intended as a rant, sorry if you took it that way. I also did not expect to upset you with my disappointment,,just stating my opinion and there are no raw nerves involved, just not agreeing with modification to rules through interpretation without disclosure on that matter. Have a great day!

I guess being a supporter is elite. Am I asking the wrong questions? Just curious how to become a supporter but can't get a serious answer.
There was a link to become a supporter before the update. I'd hope the admin would add a link button up top so others can do so. I don't know shit, and come here to learn, and in the past, stir shit in the political posts. I promise I'm not trying to make enemies here. I supported the forum because it goes to the guys that actually have to deal with programming and upkeep of the site. I don't want to lose this forum for lack of funding. If it ever comes down to it, and the site needs money, I'll personally pay to keep it up for a year and I'd hope the fellow members would do the same. There is an infinite wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and just all out good people here that I would love for this place to thrive well into the future. We have what I would say, is probably the best well run community of gun owners that I've ever come across. I've been on countless forums that were just the most unorganized and unethical people you've ever seen. And those places had thousands of members. We have a guest log here of thousands a day that are using our posts to educate themselves. I love that. Being a supporter is just a matter of donating to the forum. Can the mods please step in here and message the admin to get the support function back in play. I'm sure the revenue from the ads can keep us afloat, but it would be good as a community to see who is actually willing to put their wallet out there and who actually truly cares for the future of this forum. The amount of traffic we get is huge. I'm sure it's not cheap to get the server space to keep us running as efficient as we do.

Buying on forums requires thick skin... I've scored great deals, missed out on great deals, and have had agreed upon deals go south. All part of buying over the internet.
